WATABBA IS A TEAM PRIDE SCHOOL! Weber's ATA Black Belt Academy is pleased to announce that we are a Team PRIDE school! The Team PRIDE program assists low-income children develop the values and confidence needed to avoid criminal behavior and to succeed in school and beyond, enabling children involved in delinquency cases, abuse or neglect proceedings and special education to participate in "Karate for Kids" programs that offer mentorship and teach leadership skills and goal-setting to help them develop PRIDE (perseverance, respect, integrity, discipline, excellence) in themselves and in their lives. These bulbs come in choice of 60w, 75w and 100w, and are sold in 2-packs. Cost for non-students is 3 boxes for $5 - for WATABBA students/family it's just $1 per box! The energy efficient bulbs are a great way to be green and help support a great program! Bulbs are available at the Dojang, or you can also purchase them at the Cloverdale Farmer's Market on July 30th or August 13th. Special thanks to Ray's Food Place of Willits for donating all of the light bulbs! IT'S TOURNAMENT SEASON!!!! Several WATABBA students participated in the first regional tournament a few weeks back, and brought home a bunch of shiny medals... several students are going for points, working hard to try to take home State or Wrold titles this tournament season. An in-house fundraiser tournament is coming up on Sat 8/28, so whether you are participating or spectating, we appreciate your support! Also, make sure you plan to attend the next regional tournament on Sat 9/11 in Santa Rosa... they don't get closer than that!! MARK YOUR CALENDARS!! We have several clinics lined up to help our students - these clinics offer an excellent opportunity to work one-on-one with Mr. Weber on forms, sparring, traditional weapons, creative weapons and creative forms.
